One Month Old!

On Feb. 18th, Madelyn turned 1 month old!  Time is flying and we continue to fall more in love every day with this little blessing :-)  You were 9lb 7oz and a little over 22 inches at your  1 month checkup.

  • As you can probably tell from these pictures, you still sleep A LOT!  One night recently (at almost 6 weeks old) you went 7 1/2 hours between feedings (thank you sweet girl, mommy really appreciated that sleep!).
  • You are wearing 0-3 month clothes and you fill out the length (you are a very LONG girl).
  • You wear a size 1 diaper.
  • You love to snuggle and cuddle.
  • I think you are looking more and more like your Daddy!
  • You don't seem to be as pale as your big brother and sister.
  • You are well loved by Jonathan and Kellen - they love to kiss you, hug you, and hold your little hands.  Kellen gets very concerned and tells us every time you cry.  Jonathan loves to put blankets on you, tucking them gently up under your chin.
  • You still have quite a bit of dark hair, but I think the top is thinning out.
  • Your eyes are a very dark blue, almost navy - I think that is similar to how Jonathan and Kellen's were at this age.
  • Your most awake time is between 8pm and midnight.
  • We borrowed a baby swing from friends and you LOVE it!
  • You also love for Mommy or Daddy to wear you in the Ergo.
  • You enjoyed your first trip to the zoo.  Daddy wore you in the Ergo and you snoozed the whole time.
Here you are only a few days old.

Middle of the night studying session with Daddy.

Snuggle time with Gramma!

You were pretty jaundiced for the first few weeks.  We had to keep you on the Bili Bee LED light as much as possible.  Here you are on the light, in front of a window to get some indirect sunlight.

You have big eyes when they are all the way open!  You were still looking pretty yellow from your jaundice here.

Kisses from Kellen on her 2nd birthday!

Kellen loves her sister!  Every night when we pray with the kids before they go to bed, we ask them what they are thankful for.  And every night, Kellen says, "Madelyn!"

Sweet little yellow baby!

Enjoying some fresh air.

Jonathan loves to hold your hand!  He says, "I think Baby Madelyn wants to hold my hand."  He loves you so much!  He talks to all the time, pointing out things and telling you what they are.  He told me yesterday that when you are bigger you can watch Baby Einstein with him :-)

So thankful for these blessings!

Not a big fan of bath time yet.
